How can I upload web pages and other files to my personal webspace?

You can upload to your personal web space using any FTP client.  One simple method of uploading files is using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Navigate the Web browser to: ftp://personalwebs.nmax.net  After you login with your username and password, the web browser will show you the contents of your webspace.  You can upload new files simply by dragging and dropping them into the web browser window.

Please Note:   If you would like a web page to be displayed automatically when someone enters your webspace, you will need to name it: default.htm or index.htm.  Otherwise  the server will show a list of files in your web space.

Can I use Microsoft FrontPage to publish to my personal web space?

The Nmax personal web spaces do not have FrontPage server extensions, however frontpage can still publish though ftp protocol.   To publish to your personal webspace, using FrontPage, follow the procedure below.

1>   In the FrontPage menu bar, goto: file/Publish Web

2>   FrontPage will prompt you for the Publish destination, type in the following url: ftp://personalwebs.nmax.net, then click “publish” or “O.K”

3>   FrontPage will prompt you for a username and password, then give you the option of which files to publish.

Please Note:  It is always a good  idea to publish a copy of your webpage to your local computer.  This makes it easier to edit your page later and provides a backup in case any thing goes wrong.
